On April 8, the Party Branch of Foshan Rossum Robot Co., Ltd. and the Party Branch of the Aachen Industry 4.0 Applied Research Center, School of Intelligent Manufacturing, Shunde University of Vocational Technology held a signing ceremony for Party Building Partnership and a joint themed Party Day activity at Haichuang Han’s Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in Beijiao, Shunde District. Connected by Party building, both sides will deepen talent training and research collaboration, channel skilled intelligent manufacturing talents to industrial frontlines, and jointly draw a new blueprint for industrial automation development in the Greater Bay Area.

Su Xin, General Manager of Rossum Robot, expressed gratitude for the long-term support from Shunde University of Vocational Technology. He briefed on the company’s innovations in industrial robots and its Party building work. Focused on industrial robot R&D and system integration, Rossum has accumulated rich industry experience. Since comprehensive strategic transformation in 2022, the firm has developed AI-enabled robot products and plans to build an intelligent laboratory. He emphasized that Party building serves as a "red engine" driving corporate growth. Taking this partnership as a new starting point, Rossum expects deeper collaboration in technical R&D, joint talent cultivation and internships to empower Foshan’s intelligent manufacturing sector.
Afterwards, Party members from both sides attended the joint themed Party Day activity. They studied and discussed topics including leapfrog development of the robotics industry, deepening industry-education integration to build relevant ecosystems, and strengthening skilled talent support for intelligent manufacturing, aligning ideas and building consensus.

On site, secretaries of the two Party Branches signed the Party Building Partnership Agreement. Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, both sides will set up a leading group for partnership work and establish regular cooperation mechanisms. They will carry out in-depth collaboration in mutual organizational development, joint member education and shared activity platforms, integrate Party building with core business, and fuel high-quality development through robust Party building work.
After the signing ceremony, both sides held a special forum covering Party building, talent training and research collaboration. Multiple research teams from the Aachen Industry 4.0 Applied Research Center, including the Robotics National Innovation Team, presented their research strengths, achievements and project experience in digital factories, autonomous driving, vision sensors and nano-precision motion mechanisms. Rossum Robot showcased self-developed innovations such as the Cube Braid automated container loading robot, and elaborated talent demands in robot system integration and software algorithms.
The two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on talent cultivation, research cooperation and commercialization of research results, reaching consensus on multiple fronts. First, innovate talent training modes: enterprise engineers will participate in classroom teaching and project-oriented courses, while the university supports faculty to gain on-site corporate experience, integrating research projects with practical teaching. Second, conduct joint research targeting industrial demands, strengthening technical cooperation in laser positioning, machine vision and embodied intelligence while recruiting high-end professionals. Third, build student practice bases and explore long-term industry-university-research mechanisms based on practical projects. Both sides agreed to stay demand-oriented and result-focused rather than pursuing awards, striving to build a benchmark enterprise-university partnership.
Following the forum, participants visited Rossum’s intelligent assembly lines, product exhibition hall and R&D test platforms. They witnessed cutting-edge applications of industrial robots in precision assembly, logistics handling and other scenarios, gaining deeper insight into the company’s technical strength and innovation culture.
At the closing session, Song Yuhong, Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, summarized that this partnership marks a key step for the college to advance its "Digital & Intelligent Future Initiative" Party building brand and implement the "Two Coordination & Four Linkages" mechanism. He stressed that effective implementation and integration sustain the vitality of this cooperation. The partnership represents concrete practice for coordinated development of education, technology and talent. Both sides shall translate Party building strengths into integrated growth of innovation, industrial, capital and talent chains, build a model for industry-education integration, and boost the development of regional new quality productive forces.
